We are thrilled to share some significant improvements to our Adverse Media screening capabilities that will enhance your experience and further reduce false positive results.
What’s new?
Our latest updates to media models and data pipelines ensure that you will see even fewer irrelevant articles being flagged as adverse media, particularly in the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. This means fewer sports articles or fictional character references incorrectly classified as adverse.
How did we achieve this?
- We have improved our machine learning models in certain European languages, which now better dismiss articles related to sports and fictional characters (e.g., TV reviews).
- New filters for English language content help exclude problematic terms like "kills" used in sports articles (e.g., volleyball matches).
- We’ve also begun progressively removing false positives already in our database, so you will see fewer irrelevant articles over time as we clean up these results.
What does this mean for you?
- Fewer irrelevant alerts: Save time by receiving more accurate adverse media hits and focus on what matters most.
- Progressive improvements: As we clean up existing false positives, you’ll notice an ongoing reduction in unnecessary alerts.
When?
- These improvements take immediate effect on all news articles being ingested. The improvements to existing articles in our database will be rolled out over time so as not to create a surge in monitoring alerts for clients.
- Please note that existing false positive adverse media snippets may still be visible in cases where they have been combined into a profile with valid risk information from Adverse Media or other data sources (e.g., PEP or sanctions).
We are confident these improvements will enhance your Adverse Media screening process. If you have any questions or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to your Customer Success Manager or our Support team at support@complyadvantage.com.
