Managing Customer Segments
Last updated: April 8, 2026
Introduction
Once you have created customer segments, you may need to modify, rename, or duplicate them as your business needs or risk policies evolve. This guide explains how to manage your existing segments.
Finding Your Segments
Log in to Mesh.
Click the Settings cog in the top-right corner.
Select Segments from the left-hand navigation menu.
This page displays a list of all segments created in your account, typically ordered by creation date or name. You can search or filter this list to find specific segments.
Editing a Segment
You may need to update the logic or criteria for an existing segment.
Find the segment you wish to edit in the list.
Click on the segment name or an associated Edit button/icon.
The segment definition page will open, displaying the current rules.
Modify the segment as needed:
Change attributes, operators, or values.
Add or remove conditions.
Change AND/OR operators.
Modify or remove condition groups (for advanced segments).
Once you are satisfied with the changes, click Save.
Important Note on Editing: editing might create a new version of the segment rather than overwriting the original directly. The previous version is stored for audit trail purposes. Functionally, the newly saved version becomes the active rule set.
Renaming a Segment
If you need to change the name of a segment for clarity or consistency:
Find the segment in the list.
Click the Rename button (via a menu icon '...' next to the segment) or from within the Edit workflow.
If editing, simply update the Name field on the segment definition page.
Enter the new, unique name.
Save the changes.
Duplicating a Segment
If you want to create multiple, similar segments, you can use the duplicate feature so you don’t have to build them from scratch each time.
Find the segment you wish to duplicate in the list.
Click the Duplicate button found via the '...' in the list.
You will need to give your duplicated segment a new unique name.
You can then edit the new, duplicated segment and save it.
A note on duplicating segments: Duplicating segments will create a copy of the original segment, with its own unique identifier. The original segment is kept and will remain active.
